Welcome To My Home Page
Thank you for visiting my website. I hope to encourage you to read, read, read.
I've just recently taken a break from filling out job applications to try to update my sites. Time has escaped, yet again, from me, and I'm writing this in the last quarter of 2009. Why didn't time go this fast when we were in school? Must be one of those redundant questions. Anyway, I've taken on the mantle of Acting Senior editor at one publishing house and editor at another. Being in those positions I can testify to the amount of amazing new writers. If you haven't ventured into the world of electronic publishing, test the waters. You'll find the boundaries for writers are less restricting and help open the doors to unbelievable, creative works of fiction. I'd be worried except I know everybody's taste is different. There are fans for my work, too. Year 2010 will be another good year for me. I'll have a novelette, The Lending Library, releasing in February 2010 and the Dragon book [yes, it's really going to be done] will be published in March 2010. Dragons Among Us has now come full circle and is the base book for a series of seven or eight dragon tales. Keep your eyes open for the release at Rogue Phoenix Press.com. Well, 2008 looks to be a banner year. Wings ePress, Inc. has chosen IF ONLY to be the Golden Wings Award winner in the contemporary romance category for May 2008. This award is only given twice a year by the senior editors of the publishing house in each category for "outstanding story telling and exceptional writing skills." Maybe, I'm getting the hang of this thing. I'm thrilled beyond belief. Now, I just have to live up to the standards they've set for me. It never gets easier, does it? You'll be able to spot me--I'll be the one with the wild look in my eye and fingernails chewed to the nub. Onward and upward. I've been writing for nearly 10 years now, and I still get chills and dance around the house when I get a new contract. I've written another romance, IF ONLY, as you can see by the new cover. Had a book signing that was not a screaming success--I won't be quitting my day job anytime soon--but brought me some new readers. I'm wonderfully surprised at how many people still like to read books and, as difficult as this is to actually put in writing, I can say I've developed a small fan club. There--I said it. There are some amazingly wonderful people where I live who boost my ego and stay on my tukus about getting my books written. My husband keeps telling me, "I told you so." I've also branched out to writing mysteries and fantasy novels. I received notification from my publishing house about accepting my mystery novel and I danced around like a fool, again, when the contract came over the wire. So, I have another book being released in 2008, December to be exact, titled, "Cats in the Cradle of Civilization." The story has some local flavor as I have set my heroine's home in the Antelope Valley of California (65 miles north of LA-near Edwards AFB where they land the shuttle sometimes). The premise involves antiquities of Egypt in the form of ancient cat goddesses, the Getty Museum, international archeology and black marketing. You'll have to wait until the book comes out to find out the rest. You'll find it under author name C. L. Kraemer. Now, I'm up to my tukus in Dragons and shape shifters. By the end of 2008, I hope to have two new fantasy books penned. All that being while I copy edit for my local paper. Life is good. 2008 looks to be a banner year. Thank you for dropping in and perusing my site. I'm making a New Year's Resolution to maintain this site better. Cross my heart and hope to die!
